Tiger Woods hosts clinic at Monterey Peninsula Country Club as invitational takes over three Peninsula courses
Woods took to the range on Tuesday during the Tiger Woods Invitational presented by Insperity, the Oct. 12 to 14 charity event at Spyglass Hill, Monterey Peninsula Country Club and Pebble Beach Golf Links that raises money for TGR Foundation education programs.

Tiger Woods was on the driving range at Monterey Peninsula Country Club on Tuesday, Oct. 13, hosting a golf clinic for guests attending the Tiger Woods Invitational, according to reports from Heavy and TalkSport. The appearance was part of the three-day charity event that has taken over three of the Peninsula's best-known courses this week.
Reports from the range described the 50-year-old, 15-time major champion hitting full iron shots and wedge shots during the session and talking guests through his shots. The clinic came ahead of Tuesday's second round of invitational play on the club's Dunes Course.

The Tiger Woods Invitational presented by Insperity runs Oct. 12 through Oct. 14, according to the event's official site. Play opened Monday at Spyglass Hill Golf Course, moved to Monterey Peninsula Country Club on Tuesday, and is scheduled to finish Wednesday at Pebble Beach Golf Links. Packages include playing spots across all three courses, accommodations at The Lodge at Pebble Beach and a lineup of evening events.
Every dollar raised by the invitational supports TGR Foundation, Woods' education charity, and its network of Learning Labs and programs for young people from under-resourced communities, according to the event site. The foundation says it has served more than 217,000 students since 1996.

Tuesday's clinic followed a second Woods appearance on the Peninsula in the same week. He had earlier taken part in the TGR JR Invitational at Pebble Beach, where he interacted with the junior golfers in the field and introduced competitors on the first tee. That event brought 60 junior golfers to Pebble Beach.
Neither report from the range amounts to a comeback announcement. Woods has confirmed no playing schedule, and both outlets noted that a charity clinic is a different test from tournament golf. For Peninsula golf fans, the week still delivered a rare close-up: the game's most famous player, working on a local range, in the middle of a local week of golf built around his foundation.
