Salinas police served search warrants in the city on Tuesday, Oct. 6, as part of an investigation into firearms, potential gang activity and illegal sideshows, the department said.
The operation was carried out by the department's Violence Suppression Task Force and SWAT, with assistance from state corrections parole agents, according to the department's account of the operation.

A 17-year-old was arrested on suspicion of ammunition possession, possession of a stolen vehicle and dismantling a vehicle, police said.
Photos published by the department show two loaded firearm magazines found inside a backpack, and a white sedan with its front end stripped, parked under a canopy with tools and a red gasoline can in the engine bay.

The department publicized the operation on its official social media accounts on Oct. 6, and KSBW also reported on the warrants.
